i feel like i need a little more room to breathe, and live.

side note: just rediscovered something corporate. the comfort of the old and familiar is very welcoming and reassuring, sort of like the smelly security blanket.

rainbow veins

and i'll blend up the rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins
cause your heart has a lack of colour

wonder why i can't be like this and like that.
i think i'm just missing you a little more than i let on.

equations

from some time back, and then again, recently--

i can't explain it.
i can't explain it in linear graphs with calculated gradients and intercepts.
i can't explain it in flow charts and arrows.
i can't explain it in 'cause and effect' models and theorems.
i can't explain it--can't explain why i'm feeling the way i'm feeling now and why you've got me grey like the clouds overcast ahead.

why is the weather report sometimes inaccurate?
we pray for sunny weather and clear skies but are only met with gloomy showers when we step out. wet, wet, wet.

Lock & Key Hypothesis
Basically this is a model biologists used to explain how enzymes work to catalyze reactions and such. Picture a lock and it's key. It works on the basis of shape complementarity, it assumes that for every lock there is a specific key with a unique shape conformation that allows it to be inserted into the lock, turn it and hence locks/unlocks. Sexual connotations aside, we can draw parallels to love. Everyone talks about finding your soul mate, Hollywood churns out romantic comedies about searching for that one true love, that sole person you are made for. I guess it just makes it seem more reassuring to know that out there, is someone designed to be your perfect match, and yours only. Butttt it doesn't seem that all realistic.

Induced-fit Hypothesis
After they came up with the lock & key hypothesis, some other biologists proposed an alternative theory. They called it the induced-fit. So we get rid of the lock and key 100% match compatibility picture. Insteadddd what we have is sorta a molten down lock and key, meaning they still have a certain shape complementarity and they do fit with each other. Just that they don't give you the tight fit, that perfect click. The smart biologists theorized that after fitting together, the 2 molecules would then undergo slight changes to their respective shapes so as to fit more perfectly giving rise to the term : induced-fit. I think this sounds more realistic, perhaps even more achievable. Conflicts will inevitably arise, I don't think there can be 2 people with an exact 100% match in personality and character traits AND in love with each other. Maybe even then, circumstances around the 2 can shape problems. So we learn to compromise, to give and to take. It may not be equal but that's the beauty of the model. By altering ourselves in different aspects we accommodate, align, mould and shape to fit each other. Guess it can be seen as a tangible target to work towards.

But these are just hypotheses, theories.
Just trying to explain how 2 molecules or persons can collide
and spark.
